Getting that healthy glow in time for summer is a priority for many of us and thanks to social media, we now have more access to beautiful people and the details of their lives than ever before (Ella Woodward, Millie Mackintosh and Madeleine Shaw, to name a few).
Most of us however do not have the time to workout seven times a week, eat at fancy (but healthy) restaurants and do the weekly shop at Wholefoods.
Instead, we want to show you how to adapt their glowing agendas into your busy life.
The best way to start is form the inside out. If you’re wondering where to start, why not wake up and throw a handful of spinach into your banana smoothie? Take a fruit salad packed with kiwi and apple to work, or treat yourself to an indulgent avocado toast. These small changes will boost your mood, health and most importantly, your glow!
Keep it natural
With the sun finally breaking through the clouds, we often find ourselves in a sticky situation regarding our winter beauty bits. We are all yearning for the next glow-enhancing foundation or skincare product – but sometimes you need to start by embracing your winter skin!
Allow your skin to embrace the new sunshine by using a tinted moisturiser with SPF, rather than a full face. If you’re anxious about the absence of all make-up, prep the change with an eyebrow or eyelash tint!
Remember to smile
This one is simple – smiling surrounds you with an air of warmth and happiness. You may not be happy all of the time, but having a smile on your face is warming, welcoming and you will appear to be glowing. It may sound small, but another secret to enhancing the glow is by doing what makes you happy. Find more to smile about and your natural glow with flourish.
Do more “you”
We’re all about embracing the best version of ourselves. We can sometimes think that spending time alone or “needing some me time” is selfish, but actually it is a very healthy thing to do. Taking time to refresh and relax will make you happy and give your mind and body the chance to recover. Instead of feeling guilty, treat yourself to a facial, read an inspirational book or have a night out with the girls.
It is also important to remember to drink lots of water and keep up your intake of fruit and veg. You know they’re good for you and make you feel good – so don’t give up! Why not wake up 30 minutes earlier to meditate, run around the local park or simply make a nice breakfast once a week.
You’ll be glowing in no time!
