We’re the first ones to admit that we love make-up, but sometimes we just want to look like ourselves. For those days when you want your natural beauty to shine, try the following ‘no make-up’ make-up tips.
Start with a smooth base
Prep your skin by cleansing and exfoliating. This will remove any rough patches and ensure your make-up glides on smoothly.
Moisturise and even skin tone
The easiest way to do this is with a tinted moisturiser or BB cream. We’ve been loving the L’Oreal Nude Magique BB cream recently – it hydrates and supplies just enough coverage for that ‘perfect skin’ look.
Conceal any blemishes
If you have any dark circles or visible breakouts, use a high coverage concealer and use sparingly. Build up coverage in thin layers and blend thoroughly with a brush or beauty blender.
Reduce shine
If your skin is prone to getting oily throughout the day, a light covering of translucent powder will set your make-up and reduce shine. Try to only use this on your T-zone so your skin looks natural and dewy.
Warm up your complexion
A cream formula in warm peach or pink will give the skin a natural looking flush.
Define your eyes
If you can’t go without eyeshadow, opt for a neutral taupe colour. Go for a shade that is slightly darker than your skin and blend out any harsh edges. Follow up with some dashes of brown eyeliner in between your lashes. A coat of mascara is all you’ll need to finish the eyes.
Tint your lips
A tinted lip balm adds just enough colour to the lips while providing added moisture. If you want an extra hit of colour with a lipstick, apply a neutral tone with your finger, gently pressing in the colour.
