After a few days of warm, late summer sunshine the grey, damp weather of autumn is officially upon us. The chunky knits are out and we’re developing quite the addiction to pumpkin spiced lattes.
Another change we’re making is to our perfume collection. We’re putting those citrus-y, summery scents away and lusting after new autumnal fragrances. Thankfully, there are plenty to choose from. Take a look below to see which ones have made our wish-list.
1. Jo Malone – Mimosa and Cardamom Cologne (£85)
As long time fans of Jo Malone, we always get excited about a new fragrance. The brand’s latest offering pairs honeyed mimosa with spicy cardamom. Sandalwood and tonka bean undertones make this warm and comforting – ideal for autumn.
2. Juliette Has A Gun – Gentlewoman (£75)
With a name like ‘Juliette Has A Gun’, this brand was never going to be anything but achingly hip. Their fragrance, Gentlewoman combines uplifting orange blossom with creamy almond wood and soft musks.
3. Serge Lutens – La Vierge De Fer (£88)
In English, ‘La Vierge De Fer’ means ‘The Iron Maiden’. Instead of a dark and punky scent however, this fragrance is soft and floral. Notes of jasmine, lily and aldehydes merge like a beautiful cocktail for a different take on autumnal scent.
4. Marc Jacobs – Decadence (£49)
This scent is aimed at a more grown-up audience than previous Marc Jacobs perfumes, but manages to keep the playfulness of the brand (the bottle is shaped like a handbag). The scent mixes deep plummy notes with jasmine and a warm amber blend.
5. Sensai – The Silk (£80)
Shiseido’s first in-house fragrance looks to emulate the sensation of silk in a scent. Blending violet leaves, musk and bergamot it really does evoke the texture and warmth of silk against bare skin. What more could you want as the weather gets cooler?
6. Diptyque – Benjoin Boheme (£130)
Yes, we’re wincing at the price tag too, but hear us out. The bottle for one is like a work of art, with crackled glass effect and bead-like stopper. The scent itself includes angelica seeds, patchouli and sandalwood, wrapping itself around you like a blanket.
