The few scattered days of sunshine we’ve had in the UK have us excited for the new season and alongside the promise of warmer days ahead, we are met with some brand new beauty trends. The overriding theme from the catwalks was simplicity, i.e. stick to one trend at a time.
So, without further ado – let’s take a look at our favourite trends for spring…
Perfect base
All the looks on the catwalk this season began with perfect looking skin. Opt for a foundation that gives enough coverage without looking cakey, and then add touches of radiance with a highlighter.
Try: Clarins Ever Matte Foundation (£27)
Feline flicks vs slept-in liner
In terms of eyeliner, fashion houses fell into one of two camps – 60s inspired feline flicks, or a grunge-inspired under-eye smudge. Whether you prefer the precise look or a more carefree approach, pick a liner that will last all day long.
Try: L’Oreal Paris Infallible eyeliner (£5.19)
Bold blues
Adding a swipe of electric blue to the eyes is an easy and fun way to instantly update your look. Go bold with a full lid, or play it safe with navy liner.
Try: Body Shop Colour Crush eyeshadows in Something Blue (£7)
Bright lips
Fruit-coloured lips are big news for spring, so embrace pops of orange for a fun spring look. Tone the colour down with lip balm and keep the rest of your face fresh and natural looking.
Try: Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lipstick in Electric Orange (£7.19)
Dipped nails
Adding a little sparkle to the nude nail trend, add a touch of glitter to the tips for a modern Midas touch.
Try: Essie Nail Polish Luxe Effects in Jazzy Jubilant (£7.99)
