Whether you’re after an au-natural look with a dewy glow, or out and out colour – there’s a make-up look to suit everyone this summer.
For those keen to keep their look simple, a natural, glowing look works well in warmer weather. Start off with a silicone based primer for a flawless base. Use a tinted moisturiser or BB cream with a dewy finish to provide enough coverage to hide any blemishes, but allow your summer freckles/tan to show through. Dust a pink blusher on the cheeks and a dab of highlighter on the cheekbones. Finish the look with a swipe of mascara and a tinted lip balm.
If you have an olive skin tone or darker, you can get away with far more in regards to colour. Try a bright turquoise, lime green or (if you’re feeling brave) neon yellow eye shadow, finished off with a feline liner look. Pops of bubblegum pink on the lips and a matt, tanned face will scream tropical goddess.
Dark and stormy
A dark and smokey eye can look great all year round; you’ll just need to make a few tweaks to keep the look summery. Keep your shadow sheer with a hint of sparkle, this will avoid the caked on look we often see in cooler months. Swap the pillar-box red lipstick for purple, pink and berry tones for a lighter feel.
The golden hour
Avoid the orange ‘you’ve been Tango’d’ look this season with a gentle wash of colour and some clever contouring (multi-hued bronzers can help you achieve this). Enhance eyes with coloured mascara and keep lips nude for a surfer chic feel.
