The brand may have an international feel with its cult hoodies, trademark Japanese graphics and vintage Americana style, but Superdry is English through-and-through, having originated in our very own Cheltenham.
Until now the label has mostly been worn by University students going for an ‘urban outdoorsy’ look, but now Superdry is changing tack and heading straight into proper female territory with this collection of bright, bold and funky cosmetics.
Last year they introduced a nail and perfume range, but in February Superdry will be going the whole hog to sell everything from tweezers and nail files to lipsticks and eye-liners.
Everything about this new collection is decidedly ‘out there’. The lipsticks come in ‘Rebel Red’, ‘Electric Pink’ and ‘Flamingo’ – not exactly Chanel, but certainly a statement.
Undoubtedly the product that stands out to us most in terms of originality is the Superdry Eye Marker. This is a gloriously fat felt-tip marker pen which promises precision lines and a no-smudge formula.
Another must-have from this collection is the deep Jade Eye-Shadow, which happens to be bang on trend for spring/summer 2013.
You can even package all of your lovely cosmetics up in the new Superdry make-up bag – bright orange emblazoned with the word ‘SUPER’ in hot pink.
Our consensus? It’s bold, inventive and young like Superdry clothes – but it’s not one for the girly girls.
