Do you ever get bored of your current nail look but can’t be bothered to take all your polish off and start again? Or desperate to dabble in nail art but don’t know where to begin? Barry M may just have the answer.
Barry M Chameleon Colour Change Nail Polish (£3.99) is a metallic formula that miraculously completely changes colour when a top-coat is applied – allowing you to get creative with nail art designs and colour combinations.
The idea is that you pop on the all over base colour, before using a clear nail polish on top to trigger the colour transformation. The colour combinations are as follows:
- Blue – turns plum when clear coat applied.
- Pink – turns dark purple when clear coat applied.
- Lilac – turns dark purple when clear coat applied.
So what exactly can you do with the chameleon polish?
The chameleon polish is extremely versatile and you’ll have great fun experimenting with different looks. Here are some of our favourites to get you started:
- The all over colour transformation
The most basic way to use this polish is to paint over the whole nail with your top-coat to change the colour of the entire nail. Play around and perhaps have one statement nail of a different colour on each hand, or have a different colour on each alternate finger.
- The French tip
A classic look with a twist. Paint your nails all over with the base colour, and once dry sweep the clear coat over the nail tip for a playful French manicure. It might take a bit of perseverance and a steady hand to get it right, but practice does make perfect.
- The dainty polka dots
Why not go dotty and add some dainty little polkas to your talons for a night out? You may find that your clear polish brush is too big for this job, in which case a great tip is to dab an orange stick into the polish and use that to dot your nails.
