M&S is like the grandmother of the high street. Much loved, sensible, practical, unfaltering in its support and unwavering in its ability to provide us with what we really need – but let’s be honest, it is no crazy aunt.
When we think M&S we think faithful, we think of 100% cotton underpants, magnolia bubble bath, Christmas present slippers and sexy food ads – we do not think cutting edge, young and modern (despite the ‘cool’ TV advertisements).
However, that could all be about to change, as M&S looks to become the hot destination for all things beauty.
M&S are in the process of launching a new beauty department – & we don’t mean more rows of their own beauty products, but lots of additional carefully selected fantastic brands and a beautiful and clean new look beauty section.
Filorga, Apivita, Skyn, Murad, NUXE and Leighton Denny are just a few of the brands which will be making an appearance on the shelves – all amazing natural, niche and directional brands which are currently difficult to get hold of on the British high street.
These brands will be joining the existing M&S collection, and there will also be some exciting collaborations (the first of which is with Lyn Harris of Miller Harris).
In addition, there will also be trained beauty advisors on hand to help with make overs, skin consultations and impartial advice.
Whilst the beauty hall is currently only in the Marks & Spencer Kensington High Street store, the new product range is already available online and is set to be rolled out across more stores in the coming months.
