The Paul Mitchell range is by far one of the best and least over priced salon brands I have ever tried. I had actually never heard of this brand before I stepped into my hairdressers last year, but now I love it so much I could essentially be a brand ambassador or Paul Mitchell saleswomen.
Much like most professional salon haircare lines there are various ranges such as a shine range, a moisture range etc and though I have tried and tested various products from a few, the Super Skinny Relaxing Balm (£13.25) from the smooth range is my one and only hair holy grail.
Now on my quest to discover the perfect styling products I seem to have accumulated more hair products than most good chemists. From shampoos and conditioners through to treatment oils, masks, hairsprays, moose, leave in conditioner, serums, relaxers, waxes, heat protectors, the list goes on… So, the discovery of ONE product which condenses all of these into an attractive 200ml bottle is, for me the best thing since sliced bread.
This product is designed for curly or unruly hair and it works to smooth hair strands, seal cuticles and cut out frizz, all of which it does extremely well.
As with anything it takes a little trial and error to find the best way to use this for you. The instructions suggest between 2 and 4 pumps depending on the length of you hair. When I first began using this I used 4 pumps spreading evenly through wet hair from root to lengths. However, I found this made my roots a little greasy so now I apply three pumps and start from around two inches below my crown.
The huge bonus for me is that this product also acts as a heat protector and it speeds up drying time, so by cutting out various other steps such as serum, heat protector and leave in conditioner and by reducing drying time, my hair routine is far quicker and hassle free.
