Vaseline Rosy Lips! There is a new member of the Vaseline Lip Therapy family, and it is aimed at girlies! This uber-cute little pink tin rose-tints your lips leaving them looking glossy and contains rose and almond oil adding that extra care too, serving two purposes. Hooray! Every girl will be won over by this, maybe even replacing some lipsticks which you treasure too much to take out of your makeup bag at home!

Vaseline have definitely done there homework with this, as most people have one of these in their handbag and now, I’m betting it will be upgraded to a new pink tin!

It is £1.49 and will be available in your usual high street shops very soon!

This Works Perfect Cleavage

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

This Works Perfect CleavageIf your neck and bust could do with a little lift before you hit the beach this summer, give ‘This Works Perfect Cleavage’ a go. Its a tightening and nourishing serum that helps tone and plump the skin around your neck and chest. We all know that this area in particular can be damaged by the sun so start your TLC routine before you get that bikini on.

The product contains Algae which is used to form collagen to give that plump effect, it also contains Pomegranate oil which is well known for being a great antioxidant that nourishes skin. Prepare your skin before you start your tanning routine and you’re more likely to get an even tan.

I haven’t yet tried this product but have read some very positive reviews about it. It costs £35 and if you’d like to give it a go check out www.thisworks.com for more information.

Aloe Protective Restoring Facemask

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Aloe Face MaskI felt it was about time I gave myself a makeover and a face mask was a great place to start. I chose the Aloe Protective Restoring Mask from the Body Shop, and what a good choice it was. It is new to the aloe range and fits in perfectly amongst the aloe day and night creams. I chose this one as it is good for sensitive skin; I didn’t want anything too harsh on my skin.

Having cleansed and toned my face I massaged the cream on to my face, then left, the great thing was it didn’t need any pulling off which was nice as it left my skin feeling very fresh and so smooth to touch. All in all a good night in, and if repeated weekly will help sensitive skin not to feel so dry.

For only £10 from the Body Shop Website its a big tub bargain!

Pampering Tired Feet

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

With the summer only round the corner and holidays already booked, it will be time to get your feet out of the boots you have worn all winter and into all the newest strappy shoes and flip flops. Before doing so think about giving them some TLC and treat yourself to some of the Champneys foot range, which I think are amazing for your tootsies!

Foot ScrubStarting with the Instantly Reviving Foot Soak which smells lush will moisturise exhausted feet, containing sea salt and almond oil; a good pair for softening the skin on your feet. Then on to the Smooth and Polish Energising Foot Scrub, this is a deodorising scrub that exfoliates, getting rid of dead skin and helps to smooth out rough and dry skin. The combination of tea-tree oil and cream leaves your feet feeling soft and re-freshed!

Foot ButterAfter the scrub, I followed on to use the Deeply Moisturising Softening Foot Butter as a good finishing point having used the other two products. It contains Vitamin E which really helps the dry skin areas and after using it will help your skin to get back to being soft and no hard skin in sight! In my opinion a definite buy for the bathroom and overall a bargain for a great pampering session.

These products can found on the Champneys Website for £6.00 each.

Beautiful Benefit

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

Dr Feel GoodI recently bought a load of Benefit makeup for the first time and have to say the brand has totally won me over. I was attracted to the stall in my local House of Fraiser by the unique illustrations and appearance of the products so went over for a closer look. I ended up throwing out all my old make-up to make room for the new pots and boxes – I couldn’t bring myself to throw away the packaging, its so pretty.

Non Fiction FoundationI purchased Dr Feel Good (£19.50) – a skin smoothing balm that helps reduce imperfections and lines, it feels lovely against your skin helps set a base for foundation. I wear it every day and really notice the difference in the texture of my skin, not cheap but a total must have! I also discovered their Non Fiction Foundation (currently on sale at £14.60), a light covering foundation that leaves skin looking natural rather than OTT. It’s by far the best foundation I have ever bought and has a lovely scent that people often comment on.

Creaseless CreamIf you get a chance try their Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liners, they are so soft and natural looking but give that litter bit of shimmer and sparkle to your eyes. I bought the Birthday Suit shade (£13.00) and wear it every day. The great thing about these eye shadows is that you can wear them on their own with some black liner and mascara, or you can use them as a base and build up different tones on top of them. A great buy in my opinion!

Bad Gal Lash MascaraI couldn’t leave the Benefit stall without trying their renowned Bad Gal Lash Mascara (£14.50). It is fantastic for both daytime and evening lashes; I don’t think I’ll ever use another mascara.

They also gave me a sample of a new moisturiser which was great but I cannot find it on the website.

Check out the Benefil Website for all the products.

Molton Brown’s Warming Eucalyptus & Ginger Body Scrub

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

warming eucalyptus & ginger body scrubThe party season is nearly upon us which means showing a lot of skin in party dresses, so lots of exfoliating and fake tanning to be done. If you suffer from dry skin on the usual areas, elbows, knees, hands and feet then it’s advisable to exfoliate pre-tanning.

One product I love is warming eucalyptus and ginger body scrub from Molton Brown. Its thick granules and strong but heavenly scent are perfect for the cold winter days, the eucalyptus actually warms whilst you’re exfoilating, so it’s a real treat! A pot costs £28.00 but worth every penny in my opinion, and you can get it from Molton Brown, check out all their other goodies whilst your there.

Beauty Boost - The Natural Way

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

ApricotsI am a firm believer in you are what you eat, and after reading Now magazine this week I have picked up a few helpful tips.

For skin, Apricots contain Lutein a pigment in food that helps safe guard the skin against UV Rays that cause premature ageing & pigment damage, other sources are Black grapes, Peas and Kiwi fruit. These also contain Vitamin C and antioxidants for help with Acne and dry skin problems.

AvocadoFor hair, Soya milk is a good source of Protein which helps strengthen and thicken hair, beans & nuts are also good sources of Protein.

Avocado is one of the best things you can eat for your hair as it’s full of Vitamin E, and if you’re feeling a real earth mother you can even smother it all over your hair as a deep conditioning treatment, might be a bit messy washing it off after though, but they never said being beautiful was easy!

Medicinal Honey

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

Immune System Boosting HoneyMedicine nowadays has no boundaries; it never stands still as new remedies/procedures are introduced every day. I was interested to read in The Mail about the medicinal uses of Honey. I have always had a mug of hot lemon and honey if I’ve had a sore throat, it’s just something we’ve grown up with, but I never realised what other significant and powerful properties it had.

Apparently, you can protect your body from bacteria and viral attacks with the daily use of honey and cinnamon powder. If you have a cold or cough, take one tablespoon of lukewarm honey, mix it with ¼ spoon of cinnamon powder, take for 3 days and it you should see a significant improvement.

It is also a good antioxidant which helps restore damaged skin and aid conditions such as acne, eczema, sunburn, abscess and boils. To help your eyesight, add 2 teaspoons of honey to carrot juice and consume regularly; very helpful for those who spend hours in front of a computer screen!

Lastly, if you want a completely natural cleanser and toner for your skin – Mix 2 tablespoons of honey with 2 teaspoons of milk; apply to the face and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water, and pat dry – voila!!

Next time you’re out shopping, don’t forget to pop a jar into your trolley, it’s uses are endless!

Warning! …. Check with your GP before giving honey-containing products to children under 12 months old.

Liz Earl Cleanse and Polish

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

Liz Earl CleanserCleansing your skin is one of the most important daily rituals; if you don’t cleanse thoroughly, the residue left behind can make your skin look tired and old. I am a huge fan of Liz Earl’s skincare range, and the Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser is up there as my all time favourite product.

When I used it for the first time my skin immediately felt so clean and fresh. The cream is used in conjunction with a damp, warm, muslin cloth, which is soft but very gently abrasive so exfoliates as well as cleans. I have tried other cleansing products but no other products come close to this one, and not only does it cleanse brilliantly but its fresh smell of eucalyptus is very uplifting.

The range is made from naturally active ingredients’ including Beeswax, Chamomile and Cocoa Butter so is extremely safe to use, especially around the sensitive eye area. To use, simply apply 1 pump of cream and massage your face and neck thoroughly. Rinse the muslin cloth in hand-hot water and wring it out, then gently wipe off the cream, then repeat until clean. Job done! Just pop the muslins in a 40° white wash and they can be used time and time again.

I began with a starter Pack which consists of 100ml pump and 2 muslin cloths for £11.50 and I can guarantee that once you’ve used it you’ll never use another cleanser!

Per-fekt Skin Perfection GelIf you’re searching for a product to help improve your skin tone, reduce redness, control oil or help smooth enlarged pores and fine lines this could be it. Apparently loved by Beyonce, Paris Hilton and Janet Jackson, Per-fekt Skin Perfection Gel is a smooth gel that glides on to leave you with a natural, smooth complexion.

The antioxidant enriched formulation can be used on its own or under your foundation and will not only help improve the look of your skin but help hold your make-up in place too. It’s also water and sweat resistant so if you like a good workout at the gym this will make other red-faced members utterly envious!
