Brightly coloured, bold lipstick has been a trend throughout summer and it is set to continue on through to autumn/winter 13. Take a look at some tips to make your lippy go the distance and which products you need to work the look…
1. Blot, blot and blot again. This trick is an oldie but a goody, apply your lipstick in layers, building up the colour and blotting in between so the pigment really presses into the lips.
2. For a really bright look, apply a little foundation to lips before the colour. This will give the pigments something to cling onto and will neutralise any colour from your lips so you end up with a super bold colour.
3. Use a lip pencil to fill in lips before applying your lipstick. The pencil could be in the same colour as your lipstick or a nude colour. Either way – it will add another layer and keep your lipstick in place.
4. Invest in a good make-up remover to take it all off with at the end of the day. Oil-based cleansers will be best at breaking down intense pigments.
While this product might not last quite 14 hours, it does stop colour transfer and bleeding with a non-drying formula at a reasonable price.
With a super matte finish, these lipsticks are a lovely soft formula that glide over lips for full, bold coverage.
While at first glance this product may look like a gloss, it is in fact a densely pigmented liquid lipstick. The sponge applicator gives full coverage, but be sure to work quickly – once the product dries it won’t budge!
