The Snake is a dark, sensuous, cunning sign and, according to Chinese mythology, people born beneath it (1929, 1941, 1953, 1977, 1989, or 2001) share these characteristics.
Photographer Chen Man, who shot the promotional images for M.A.C, said: “I drew inspiration from the Chinese myth, ‘The Legend of the White Snake’, a very well known love story. The model represents the lead character, and the tower in her hairpiece recalls the Tower of Thunder Mountain, in which she was trapped in the name of love.”
The collection is peppered with rich purples, deep reds and fiery oranges, reminiscent of a vibrant Chinese festival.
