The 2012 Dior Autumn Make-Up Collection is due to arrive in Selfridges next month, and it promises to be just as edgy and sultry as last year’s.
Last Autumn’s ‘Blue Tie’ collection offered a sleek metropolitan ‘night-out’ feel with stormy blue and gun-metal grey eye-shadows accompanied by a gorgeous midnight blue nail polish.
This year’s ‘Golden Jungle’ is more of a night in the Serengeti than a night out in Soho, but as usual the couturiers have hit the spot with quirky leopard-print eye-shadows in shimmering gold and khaki shades for that edge of ‘roar’ sex-appeal.
The collection’s centrepiece, the Golden Jungle Pallet, features two leopard-print shadows either in golden brown or golden khaki, accompanied by two lip-glosses in ivory glow and nude glow.
A set of new lipsticks will also be launched in four daringly dark shades named Wild, Instinct, Fatale and Daring – designed to bring out the predator in all of us.
Perhaps most exciting of all is the new crackle nail varnish, which comes in khaki-gold and looks just like crocodile skin when applied.
It seems the 200 innovation experts working on Dior’s make-up collections round-the-clock have had their work cut out this season developing products that not only stand out from the competitors on the shelves, but also work effectively.
The collection will be available to purchase in Selfridges in July.
