Instead of your everyday humdrum French manicure, why not shake things up a bit and choose a festive colour for your tips?
We opted for Nails Inc Montpelier Square (£11) a glorious metallic silver which channels frosty winter morning vibes.
Other polishes that particularly jingled our bells were Barry M Red Glitter (£2.99) and Models Own pearl polish in Ever Green (£5).
Start by painting your nails with a good base coat. Nails Inc have a great range but for a cheaper alternative try Rimmel’s 5 in 1 Nail Care (£4.59) which is both a top and base coat and really works at strengthening the nails too.
Wait for this to dry completely before using your desired nail polish to paint your tips. A great tip is to have a moist make-up wipe, baby wipe or damp cloth at the ready, this way if you make a mistake very quickly use the wipe to remove the polish from the nail bed before it dries and try again.
We find the easiest way to do this is to use one long stroke from one side to the other side of the nail, but having a steady hand is also a great help! After the tips are completely dry finish off with a clear top coat or even a glitter top coat if you are feeling especially festive.
