Holiday haircare
Most of us are sensible enough to know that we need to slather ourselves in sun cream before stepping out into the beaming sunshine. But if we are not prepared to go outside without protection on our skin then why do so many of us neglect to protect our hair?
We now know that the effects of the sun on our hair is just as harsh as chemical bleach, lightening it’s natural colour and fading or changing our pricey highlights and colours! In addition to this, sea water and chlorine also plays havoc with our luscious locks, so what measures can we take to ensure were not frying or barnet’s to oblivion?
Basically look for haircare products which contain a preventative UV filter. These products will act in the same way a sun cream does on our skin, protecting the hair from harmful rays whilst keeping it well moisturised.

Aveda’s After Sun Treatment Masque £14.70 is a lovely weekly treat for parched hair, magically restoring the hairs protein balance whilst defending against free radicals and the effects of the sunlight. Again this can be used at anytime but you will really feel the effects after a day spent flitting between the sea, the pool and sun bathing.
