Chapped lips have to be one of the worst parts of winter – it makes it impossible to wear lipstick, lip balm needs to be applied about 57 times a day to keep your lips hydrated, and, worst of all, it puts those mistletoe kisses in jeopardy.
Never fear though, here’s the pick of the bunch for keeping those lips kissalicious!
First up on the left is the Body Shop’s Born Lippy Lipbalm, available in 9 different flavours and shades, including 2 special Christmas ones, Cranberry and Vanilla. These little pots are great and last ages, just pop one in your bag and apply when necessary. Be careful though, with such yummy flavours there’s a temptation to keep licking your lips! Born Lippy Lipbalm pots cost £4 each, available online or instore.
In the middle is Chanel’s Soin Tendre Levres, a subtle but very effective hydrating lip treatment. Simply apply it by itself or under lipstick to keep lips hydrated, and to prevent dryness and sun damage. With no colour or fragrance, you can apply any other lip product over the top, and even put Soin Tendre Levres on top later in the day if you need to. At £18 it’s not cheap, but a few applications will have your lips feeling soft again. Available from Debenhams.
Finally, on the right, No7’s Protect and Perfect Lip Care not only moisturises lips, it also keeps them looking younger and fuller. The anti-ageing actives helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, and it also protects lips from the weather, as well as fixing dryness. It costs £8.56 and is available from Boots.
So now there’s no excuse not to pucker up!
