I am seriously loving the Realness of Concealness mini ‘Fake it’ kit from Benefit Cosmetics. The little box is ideal for travelling and contains mini touch up versions of the ‘Fake it’ products to take with you on the move. It comes in a cute little box with sewn in mirror and the interior is decorated with pink and black polka dot material.

The kit includes Benefit Ooh La Lift; a magic pink balm that helps your eyes look younger and brighter, Boi-ing Concealer; to help cover dark circles and imperfections, Lip Plump; does exactly what the title says! If you’re board of your eye make-up and want to make your eyes look bigger and brighter, here’s a great tutorial from Video Jug. You will need tweezers, eyelash curlers, mascara, false eyelashes, dark eyeliner, white eyeliner, highlighter eyeshadow and a darker eyeshadow. The demonstration is easy to follow and gives some great tips. I will be spending my Friday evening perfecting this technique!

Applying make-up perfectly takes time, patience and practice. This is all very well, but for those of us who run out of time or patience (or are just plain lazy), the Japanese consumer electronics giant Matsushita has designed a hand-held device that will apply make-up for you!

The device will operate the same technique used for inkjet printing on paper to produce a make-up spray that can be turned on and off by a switch. There’s no launch date yet but what an amazing idea! I can’t wait to try it out – although I do have visions of being plastered in liquid thick enough to drip off! Exactly how it will work is a mystery to me – but if it works it means we’ll all get an extra lie-in in the mornings!!

Most of us know that blusher has the ability to accentuate our best bits and leave us with a radiant glow, or it can make us look like we’re off to join the circus! Medicine nowadays has no boundaries; it never stands still as new remedies/procedures are introduced every day. I was interested to read in The Mail about the medicinal uses of Honey. I have always had a mug of hot lemon and honey if I’ve had a sore throat, it’s just something we’ve grown up with, but I never realised what other significant and powerful properties it had.

Apparently, you can protect your body from bacteria and viral attacks with the daily use of honey and cinnamon powder. If you have a cold or cough, take one tablespoon of lukewarm honey, mix it with ¼ spoon of cinnamon powder, take for 3 days and it you should see a significant improvement.

It is also a good antioxidant which helps restore damaged skin and aid conditions such as acne, eczema, sunburn, abscess and boils. To help your eyesight, add 2 teaspoons of honey to carrot juice and consume regularly; very helpful for those who spend hours in front of a computer screen!

Lastly, if you want a completely natural cleanser and toner for your skin – Mix 2 tablespoons of honey with 2 teaspoons of milk; apply to the face and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water, and pat dry – voila!!

Cleansing your skin is one of the most important daily rituals; if you don’t cleanse thoroughly, the residue left behind can make your skin look tired and old. I am a huge fan of Liz Earl’s skincare range, and the Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser is up there as my all time favourite product.

When I used it for the first time my skin immediately felt so clean and fresh. The cream is used in conjunction with a damp, warm, muslin cloth, which is soft but very gently abrasive so exfoliates as well as cleans. I have tried other cleansing products but no other products come close to this one, and not only does it cleanse brilliantly but its fresh smell of eucalyptus is very uplifting.

The range is made from naturally active ingredients’ including Beeswax, Chamomile and Cocoa Butter so is extremely safe to use, especially around the sensitive eye area. To use, simply apply 1 pump of cream and massage your face and neck thoroughly. Rinse the muslin cloth in hand-hot water and wring it out, then gently wipe off the cream, then repeat until clean. Job done! Just pop the muslins in a 40° white wash and they can be used time and time again.
